What is CMMS?
The CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a management method implemented using a tool or an application known as CMMS, aimed at managing maintenance operations within a company.
One of the primary functions of a CMMS is to provide automated assistance for maintenance management in a company: incident tracking, management of maintenance operations, equipment control, communication between operators and the technical department.
However, CMMS can also be applied to various areas such as production, equipment operation, or even financial management services or HR.
CMMS applications cover a variety of areas such as:
Management of equipment, inventories, their characteristics, acquisition dates, expiration dates, and replacement dates. Management of different types of maintenance: preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, ...) with the production of associated documents. These documents are then used in the technical services of different entities and can be, for example, intervention requests, work orders (OT). Management of company stocks: minimum quantity thresholds, order placement thresholds, generation orders for suppliers, ... Management of employees and scheduling: time spent, timesheets, attendance …
